Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)

Our larger church affiliation encompasses the world.

We are Disciples of Christ, a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. We welcome all to the Lord’s Table as God has welcomed us. Their website will give you more information about causes, events, mission and happenings. Please feel free to learn more at Disciples.org

Missions & Causes

“And He (Jesus) said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.’”  Mark 16:15 NKJV

“Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name. And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”   Hebrews 13:15-16 NIV

At West Lake Christian Church, we take Christ’s words seriously.  We believe that sharing the life saving good news of Jesus Christ is not an option, but is a command from God to further His kingdom here on earth.  Through the various missions of our church and our church connections, we share within our community and beyond through prayer, our time, our talents and our financial support.

Below is a list of some of the ways we participate in furthering this mission.  Occasionally we will highlight one or more of these great causes.

Operation Christmas Child

National Collection Week:
November 15-22, 2021

“For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”  Psalm 100:5 NIV

Connect "2.0" The Bible Project

Our goal is to help people experience the Bible as a unified story that leads to Jesus by exploring the Bible’s story by focusing on its overarching themes and each book’s literary design. We are committed to understanding the Bible in its historical context and communicating its wisdom to the modern world. Ultimately, we want to change how people read and use the Bible.

We want to help people read through Scripture and understand it without falling into the common trap of seeing the Bible as a rule book or as a “devotional grab bag”; we want to present the Bible as a unified story that leads to Jesus.

While connecting People to God People to People and People to outreach.
